If you wish to join your partner or spouse in the UK, you can apply for a Partner or Spouse Visa under the Family Migration route. This visa allows individuals to live with their spouse, civil partner, or unmarried partner who is either a British citizen, settled in the UK, or has refugee or humanitarian protection status.
Eligibility Requirements
To successfully apply for a Partner or Spouse Visa, you must meet the following criteria:
Relationship Requirements:
- You must be legally married, in a civil partnership, or have been living together in a relationship for at least 2 years.
- The relationship must be genuine and subsisting.
- You and your partner must intend to live together permanently in the UK.
Financial Requirements:
- Your partner must have a minimum annual income of £18,600 or more. This amount increases if there are dependent children.
- Alternatively, you can use savings or other financial resources to meet the financial threshold.
Accommodation Requirement:
- You must provide proof of suitable accommodation that meets UK living standards for you and your family.
English Language Requirement:
- You must demonstrate English proficiency by passing an approved English language test or holding an eligible qualification.
